At approximately 7:45 PM on Thursday, March 20, 2025, the Farmington Police Department was made aware of a suspicious video and text on the City of Farmington website. The Farmington Information Technology and Police Departments immediately began investigating the situation, and the suspicious media was removed within the hour.

The suspicious media is believed to have been added due to a hack at the City’s website hosting company, Munission. In an email to the City, a Munission representative stated, “…there was a hack. We discovered it and restored from an earlier site version and republished it. We also found the account that was infiltrated and removed it so we believe the issue is now resolved…We will be investigating how this occurred.” The representative also apologized and re-iterated Munission’s commitment to investigating how it occurred.

The images and message of the suspicious media do not reflect the beliefs and values of the City of Farmington, and we apologize to anyone who viewed these. For more information, please contact the Farmington Information Technology Department at 573.454.2617. If you see suspicious activity online, you may report it to the Farmington Police Department at 573.760.7111.
